A&A Interior Gallery invites you to the exhibition "Journeys in Dreams and Reality. Photographic works by Alexander Korenkov"
A series of works from across the globe — Africa, Nepal, Europe, and the Middle East.
The exhibition presents both colour works, reflecting the diversity and beauty of life on Earth, and black-and-white symbolic codes and allusions to this reality. An abundance of references to world fine art, alongside visual depictions of myths and stories from global religions, offers the inquisitive viewer a chance to see any event as a hidden message in their own life, revealing the multi-layered nature of the manifest world.
Curator - Anastasia Degtiareva.
Alexander Korenkov was born in Moscow in 1978. He studied opera singing at the Moscow Conservatory, performed at the Mariinsky Theatre, and toured worldwide as an opera singer.
Alongside his musical career, Alexander studied classical black-and-white film photography under masters of the Soviet photographic school. As a result of his extensive travels, his portfolio features photographs from across the globe, including Spain, Italy, France, the US, Russia, and Syria.
His works have been exhibited at the Soho Gallery in New York, and at the Manege in both Moscow and St Petersburg.
“What sound are you right now?” — this is the question I ask myself every time I press the shutter.
In my works, I convey the surrealism of everyday life, revealing the meaning of events through signs and symbols. In this way, we can tangibly perceive and immerse ourselves in the immanent state of a constant presence—something incomparably greater than ourselves”
Alexander Korenkov
The official opening ceremony will take place on March 19th at 6.00 pm
The exhibition opening ceremony was featured a performance by a musical trio AVE: composer and producer Vadim Mikhailov, baritone Alexander Korenkov and mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Venter.
AVE is a trio creating music at the intersection of academic tradition and contemporary electronic culture. Their sound blends classical instrumental textures, expressive vocal work, repetitive piano patterns, synthesis, and experimental rhythms. The ensemble explores the balance between strict musical form and emotional openness, as well as the dialogue between acoustic and electronic sound. Their music can range from restrained transparency to intense, dramatic sonic landscapes.
The trio consists of composer and producer Vadim Mikhailov, baritone Alexander Korenkov, and mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Venter. Mikhailov creates music for theatre, film, and contemporary dance and previously worked for ten years at the Mariinsky Theatre. Korenkov has performed internationally and combines chamber music with avant-garde and experimental styles, while Venter brings a powerful operatic voice and a distinctive musical palette. Their album Again&Again includes paraphrases of works by Gounod, Poulenc, Schumann, and Durante, along with Neapolitan and Spanish songs.
The exhibition will be open to April 28, 2026.
