Alexander Tolokonnikov - a renowned Russian landscape architect who has been working in this field since 1995. He is often referred to not simply as an architect, but as a garden philosopher. Alexander’s extraordinary approach to creating “the garden as an energy system”, which stems in part from his immersion in Eastern spiritual practices and psychotherapy, that makes him a truly unique specialist.
One of the master’s signature projects is the unique cultural and landscape space in Tyumen (Russia) “Iva Park”- which was conceived as a “living library” and a place for contemplation, where plants, stones, and water form a unified philosophical system. Realized as the first and only authentic Japanese garden in Siberia and the Urals, Iva Park is positioned as a place to slow down and “recharge.” Our next meeting with the master at our gallery will be dedicated to analysing this project.
