A&A Interior Gallery invites you to the exhibition "Bay of Kotor: Stage of Light and Air" - an exhibition of watercolours by architect and artist Anna Ilina. The exhibition will run from April 30th to May 28th, 2026, at the A&A Interior Gallery space in Porto Montenegro.
"Bay of Kotor: Stage of Light and Air" is the result of Anna’s artistic research project
“Montenegro Context Lab”. Through the delicate medium of watercolour, Anna explores the intersection of landscape, memory, and local identity. As an architect, she "reads" the
environment beyond the mere image, focusing on the silhouettes of fortresses, the relationship between mountains and architecture, and the natural scenography of the fjord.
The works featured in the exhibition - including series such as Colours, Isle of the Dead,
Landmarks, Point of View etc. - capture the Bay of Kotor in its most atmospheric moments.
Anna’s paintings deliberately remove modern distractions, allowing viewers to travel back in time and experience the coast as it might have appeared in the 18th century.
Anna Ilina born in Saint Petersburg and a graduate of the Ilya Repin Academy of Arts, she is an accomplished architect and the head of CLEVERS Studio. Her architectural work focuses on urban design and the renovation of cultural heritage sites, including projects for the Saint Petersburg Botanical Garden and the Benois Family Museum. In her artistic practice, she uses the brush to reveal details and emotions that photography cannot convey, reflecting a unique" architectural way of seeing".
