A&A Interior Gallery invites you to the exhibition of Dragana Mladenovic “Us, Humans and Dream Collectors”
“The series of expansive acrylic linear drawings on canvas showcases a captivating interplay of form and concept. Comprising ten large-format paintings and approximately thirty smaller pieces, this body of work delves into the enigmatic world of Dream Collectors.
These figures emerge as a response to the persistent presence of dreams across modern media, advertisements, and publications, reflecting society’s fascination with the subconscious and its fleeting nature. Dream collectors are envisioned as ethereal, otherworldly entities who perceive dream harvesting as a transient, almost playful pursuit.
The winding, liquid lines on a canvas serve as a poignant representation of the complexity and fluidity of human thought. These lines, often curving and intertwining in unexpected ways, reflect the nonlinear nature of our mental processes. Just as these strokes meander unpredictably across the canvas, our thoughts often drift through uncharted territories, making spontaneous connections and forging new pathways.
This artistic style captures not only the chaos but also the beauty of the human mind. The overlapping and intersecting lines mirror the layers of emotion, memory, and imagination that coexist within us. Each bend and curve symbolises a divergence in thinking—a moment of inspiration or an idea sparked by chance. The fluidity of the lines, unrestricted and free-flowing, emphasises the importance of embracing uncertainty and the creative potential it holds.
In this way, the artwork becomes a visual dialogue with the viewer, inviting them to explore their own interpretations. The unpredictability of the lines mirrors the personal, introspective journey of untangling one’s thoughts, while their intricacy underscores the profound depth of the human experience”.
